HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 1) A student must complete the following subject requirements: a) English (one course a semester) 8 semesters 40 units b) Social Science i) Geography 2 semesters 10 units ii) Modern World 2 semesters 10 units iii) U.S. History 2 semesters 10 units iv) American Government 1 semester 5 units v) Economics 1 semester 5 units c) Math (including 1 year of Algebra) 6 semesters 30 units d) Science i) Biological science 2 semesters 10 units ii) Laboratory science 2 semesters 10 units e) Physical Education (Grades 9 and 10) 4 semesters 20 units f) Health Education 1 semester 5 units g) Foreign Language (same language) 6 semesters 30 units h) Fine Arts 2 semesters 10 units i) Elective Courses xx units* *(Note: The number of elective courses will vary based on student’s programming) 2) A minimum of 220 units is to be completed for graduation (280 units maximum). 3) Students can only earn 5 units for any academic class title, even if the class is repeated for a better grade. 4) The Principal may waive or modify certain requirements when deemed necessary to meet specific needs or circumstances. 5) Students must perform 75 hours of community service while attending Cornerstone Academy College Preparatory to graduate on stage. Community service hours will not be recorded until the sophomore year.
