RELAXED DRESS CODE
On
certain days, students will be allowed to follow a relaxed dress code in lieu
of the school uniform. This is a privilege and privileges must be earned.
Anyone out of uniform especially on chapel days will lose this privilege on his
or her assigned days.
WE
DO NOT WANT TO BE THE FASHION POLICE. IF YOU QUESTION OR TEST THE BOUNDARIES
OF OUR GUIDELINES AND POLICIES REGARDING DRESS CODE, WE WILL REVERT TO UNIFORM
EVERYDAY.
Everyone
will still change for his/her physical education class in standard PE uniform.
Additional
guidelines may be added at anytime by the administration and students will be
asked to return home to change if the clothes the student is wearing are not
acceptable.
ALL
Clothing must be modest at all times while on our campus and at school events
held off campus.
No
baggy pants baggy is defined as more than 4 of extra material from leg to
the inseam. All clothing must be size appropriate.
Belt
line must be at the waistline (no sagging pants)
No
sweatpants or windbreaker-type of pants or tearaways
No
skateboarding-type pants
No
shorts (weather permitting; except for khaki, Bermuda, or jean, the length must
be no shorter than just above the knees)
No
tank tops
Solid
color t-shirts without pictures or logos are acceptable
Official
school garments (sweatshirts, team shirts, etc. sanctioned by the
administration) are permitted.
Students
are to wear shoes at all times. No sandals with straps between the toes will be
permitted. Athletic shoes are acceptable.
Negative
counter-culture fads of dress or hairstyle with extreme cuts or unnatural
colors must be avoided.
Hair
must be neatly groomed and moderate in style. No tinting of hair is allowed.
No
body piercing is allowed for both genders except for girls who may pierce their
ears (one pair only). Earrings are not permitted on campus at any time for male
students and also at any after-school event or at any school event, on or off
campus. Earrings worn during these times will be confiscated.
Make-up
is allowed only for girls.
No
visible tattoos.
Garments
should be free of inappropriate slogans, pictures, etc.
Boys
or girls may not wear headcoverings in class, the
office, or in chapel. Hats worn outside may never be worn backwards or
sideways.
BOYS
Earrings
are not permitted on campus at any time for male students and also at any
after-school event or at any school event, on or off campus. Earrings worn
during these times will be confiscated.
Collared
shirt (long-sleeved or short-sleeved t-shirt may be worn)
In
place of a collared shirt, a long-sleeved t-shirt may be worn

place of a collared shirt, a sweater or sweater vest may be worn with an
appropriate t-shirt underneath
In
place of a collared shirt, a turtleneck sweater or shirt may be worn
GIRLS
No
excessive make-up (Middle school: nail polish only)
The
length of the skirts or dresses must be no shorter than just above the knee.
No
spandex-tight or form fitting clothing is permitted to be worn
Narrow
straps (less than 2 inches wide), backless attire, crop tops, and halter-type
necklines are not permitted
Shirts
must hang below the top of the pants
No
sheer clothing of any type is permitted
