High School Snow Retreat
Angel Tseng
| Bible Verse of the month |
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13:13 |
| Quote of the month |
Men always want to be a woman's first love - women like to be a man's last romance. ~ Oscar Wilde |
On January 31st, the majority of the high school student body set off for the annual snow trip. When we first arrive, there were some petty disappointments. Due to the fact that the trip was set back a month later than usual, there was hardly any snow at the campsite. For all those first-timers expecting mounds and mounds of snow to frolic and play in, it was quite a setback; a blunder in quite a few persons' attitudes. Despite this mishap, under the persistent encouragements of Mr. C Wong and other council members, everyone tried to shove away the wimpy attitudes, and have a good time.
The council members in charge did a fairly good job planning activities, and running devotions. Many students broke out of their shells and bonded with those unfamiliar to them in the past. The majority of the high school was no longer separated by grades, classes, and cliques; as people befriend supposed strangers, making lasting connections and friendships over the original bridge that isolated individual groups.
Overall, the snow retreat was fairly successful. With renewed faiths and fresh faces in our Christian community, the high school students of Cornerstone Academy College Preparatory returned home safely on February 2nd.
