St. Nicholas day is mainly celebrated in European countries.
The partying of St. Nicholas Day is apart from Christmas Day. St. Nicholas Day is celebrated on December sixth. Gift giving is often done on St. Nicholas Day, not Christmas.
In the Netherlands, fiction says that St. Nicholas’ birthday was on December sixth. He gave presents to the good children with his helper Black Pete. For the bad children, they may often be taken back with him to Spain.
St. Nicholas was born in 271 AD and died around December 6, 342 or 343 AD. He was a bishop who did many good things and was friendly to the poor. He still visits houses on December fifth and sixth. He leaves presents in stockings that the children hang by the fireplace. St. Nicholas often began coming to the children's houses on Christmas Eve.
